The New York Panthers Blue 12-and-under squad went 3-1 on their way to a second-place finish in the New Jersey Sharks Tournament.
Casey Sclafani led the way with two hits and four RBI as the Panthers advanced to the semifinals via a 12-10 win over the West Windsor Wildcats and then posted a 4-1 victory over the Newtown Rocks via Victoria Capozucca's four-hitter with seven strikeouts.
 In the semifinals, Dayna DiClemente drove in two runs in the top of the seventh for a 2-0 win over the South Jersey Riptide.
 In the finals, the Panthers rallied from an 8-2 deficit to make the score 8-7 before falling 10-7 to the New Jersey Outlaws.
